To anyone who has not been down to the walled garden lately, I urge you to go and see it soon, the new Rose Garden is a perfect place to sit and enjoy the summer sunshine.

I made a visit today with my daughter and grandson, his pre school had planted daoffodils
6 months ago so it was a visit to see how they had grown and my first visit. I was blown away with the project

When I first visited this magical place I came away feeling sad because I love gardening and the kitchen garden was lying long unused. I have just visited Elford and even on a dull February day (2011) it is beautiful. It is full of hope and promise. How wonderful for it to be used and enjoyed by local people and their families especially with the current economic stresses and strains. We all need a bit of joy and the circumstances of the bequest are inspirational for everyone involved. Well done the volunteers - now enjoy!

It was a magical feeling looking through the entrance into the Garden. Hopefully the Bonfire and Fireworks evening on the 6th November will be the first event of many more inwhich I'll be attending.
